Change

Something needs to change in my life.

I can feel everything pulling at me in different directions and i dont know where to go when or why...not to mention how.

Something needs to change though...that is all i know.

Funny though.
A year ago I would have probably begged for everything to remain the same.

I just need...something...like...hmm. a paradime(sp) shift? i dont even know what that means, but the way jackie used it, seems to mean a huge life changing...change.

Sounds kinda nice to me.

I just hope if things do change...it will be for the better.

Saturday, October 08, 2005

I signed a petition against this.

"Studies show that American children are falling behind children in other nations in their knowledge and understanding of science. But instead of improving the quality of science education, movements across the country are trying to substitute ideology for fact in our classrooms.

The freedom of religion and the quality of public education are being put to the test in Dover, Pennsylvania, where a landmark court case is shaping up, as schoolteachers rebel against being forced to teach creationism in their biology classrooms along with evolution.

At issue in Dover, PA, is a new policy requiring all ninth-grade biology teachers to read a statement on "Intelligent Design" before teaching evolution lessons. The district is believed to be the first in the country to require such a disclaimer.

But the problem with this policy is that science is based on facts and testable predictions; religion is based on faith. And unfortunately, "intelligent design" is no more than religious creationism dressed up with a new name. A quality science education teaches children to weigh evidence, think critically, and apply the scientific method to test theories. A study of "Intelligent design" does none of these things.

For the sake of our children and the competitiveness of our country, urge your state governor to defend the integrity of science education in our schools!"

And I cannot guess what we¹ll discover When we turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels But I know our filthy hands can wash one another's And not one speck will remain

And I do believe it's true that there are roads left in both of our shoes But if the silence takes you than I hope it takes me too So Brown Eyes I'll hold you near 'cause you're the only song I want to hear A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

Where soul meets body"

There you go, some more beautifully brillient lyrics from the genius mind of Ben Gibbard. 7 days until "Plans"!! I can hardly wait!

Right On, Ben!

Review on Death Cab For Cutie:

"The members aren't glamorous, looking more like college teaching assistants than rock stars. And they don't dumb down their sound to get over. There have been attempts in the media to shove Death Cab into the marketable emo trend, a term that suits the band only in its open-hearted tone.

Gibbard is less than thrilled by the comparison. 'Emo tends to be really base emotions and clichéd writing over punk-pop garbage made for 13-year-olds,' he says."

so true...Death Cab is NOT emo...Death Cab is indie! Come on people!!

Quote of the Day - August 23

"Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinion of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth."

~Katherine Mansfield~

Just do it. What you love, what you want, what you need to do. Risking enough to get it, but not so much as to ruin it.

Quote of the Day - August 22

"If you would be pope, you must think of nothing else."

~Spanish Proverb~

I take from this that in order to be a great anything you must set you mind on that and not be distracted from it.

Soccer Week...

This week is school soccer tryouts. I am excited to get them over with.

So basically I have tryouts Monday through Thursday like 2 hours every morning.

I have rec. practice Monday and Wednesday 5:30-7:00.

Then on Friday is the Issaquah Kick-off Soccer Tournement for rec. soccer and it is gonna be sweet. Friday has one game, Saturday has two, and Sunday has one. The Reign is determined to win this thing!...and kick the Chili Peppers asses!

So basically my whole week is deticated to soccer..........and it rocks!

Quote of the Day - August 20-21

"I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's."

~William Blake~

I think this quote is pretty damn good for this weekend. I have decided something that defies the system. I am going to do my best to not drive until I am able to drive without using fossil fuels (gas). My system is to give up something important for a while in order to protect the environment.

"We will never have all the facts to make a perfect judgement, but with the aid of basic experience we must leap bravely into the future."

~Russell R. MacIntyre~

...because sometimes we need to take chances... This was a perfect quote for today because of the issues I am having with friends.

Very true. This is something I often think about.

Quote of the Day - August 17

"What you want to be eventually, that you must be every day; and by and by the quality of your deeds will get down into your soul."

~Frank Crane~

This is amazingly similar to the previous quote because they are both getting at the same idea. The idea that what you desire is what you are if you believe it is what you can be.

Quote of the Day - August 16

"What we truely and ernestly aspire to be, that in some sense we are. The mere aspiration, by changing the frame of mind, for the moment realizes itself."

~Anna Jameson~

What a brillient quote!?! It is absolutly beautiful and thoughtful. One of my favorites so far. It is saying that if we are so heart-set on something we want to do, we can do it...we are doing it...in that sense that we will. It is really hard to explain but I love it.

Alpine Days?...and more!

Well, Alpine...i mean Festival @ Mount Si starts tomorrow!!! YESSS! I am so excited and I don't even know why! I guess it is cause of the booths and the parade and the concert and the fact that I get to see everyone I havnt seen forever! Yea, well, I finially get to meet Tony's like best friend...umm....oh yea...Andy...she is a girl. Yea...umm So that should be pretty fucking sweet. Oh, not to mention the fireworks! So that should be a hell of a lot of fun!

Mom gets home tonight...though she was supposed to this morning...but yea... it is exciting anyway.

I really really really wanna go DDRing sometime soon...somebody take me to ILLUZIONZ!!! oh and it would be cool to go there and play lazer tag again! YUSS.

I am hungry. I need to clean the house. I need to walk to dogs.

I have a huge zit. Ewww!

I is really cloudy outside!! Not rainy, but cloudy...just the way I like it!

Someone better start reading this again.

And someone should come over and teach me something new on my drumset...I am getting bored with the like...20 beats i have.

lalalaaaa.

Tony's sisters friend took some of my CD's out my case which I left there...but my night in shining armor (Tony by the way) got them back for me. So HA.

Yesterday I went to speed camp and then to Tonys and woke him up (which took forever!) and we went to eat at the new burger place (his treat) and he got breakfast and I got lunch and then we went to the dollar store and he got me a Snoopy PEZ despenser and PEZ and made a disaster of a burger in there...hehe. Then we got in a fight and then we walked on the railroad tracks and made up and talked and went to the park where we pet some llamas of his old teacher (wagners mom), then we went to his house and i gave him a drum lesson and then i went to soccer practice down the street but my leg gurt so i got to do goalie stuff the whole time, which kicked ass, and dave taught me a new way to kick the ball and it was sweet! then tony met me there and he came over where we watched Jurassic Park 3 and then he tucked me in and dad took him home.

but yea...i must make an interesting day out of today so tata for now...

"Refuse to join the cautious crowd that plays not to lose; play to win."

~David J. Mahoney~

It took me a while to get this but when I did I realized how true it is that some people play, not to win, to not lose. If you are just trying to play enough not to lose then you do lose because you arnt putting your all into it.

Quote of the Day - August 3

"Adventure is worthwhile in itself."

~Amelia Earhart~

Yes. Often times when you are about to go on an adventure, you question whether or not the joy in the danger is worth the risk. She is saying that if it is something you have a passion for, that you believe you should do, then risking it and even dying for it, is worth it. Look at her, she died in the process of her dream.

Quote of the Day - August 2

"Believe in life! Always human beings will live and progress to greater, broader and fuller life."

~W.E.B. du Bois~

I like the first part alot; Believe that life will progress and continue. The second part makes me think of how, yes, humans do broaden there lifestyle, but is that a good thing for everyone else (that is, at least the way we are doing it now)?

Cow!

The Summer of Soccer. lol.

Okay. So I am slowly updating the poetry portion of this site. In about 15 days, by my calculations, I should have all my poetry published at jinxxpoems.blogspot.com. I will let you know when it is all there.

Ummmmm. Well I was supposed to go to Portland today but my mom and I decided not to, so instead we are gonna go to BellSquare. lol.

The rest of my summer mainly consists of soccer and working out for soccer. I have practices a couple times a week and Speed Camp Monday and Wednesday morning. I have school soccer tryouts at the end of August followed directly by a Rec. tournement. Wish me good luck for both.

Anything else I do is not going to be huge because I have to focus so much on soccer. I will go to "Festival at Mt. Si" which I am praying will be as fun as Alpine Days because I have been looking forward to it all year!

I will write more later.

Quote of the Day - July 25

"Enthusiasm is a kind of faith that has been set afire."

~George Matthew Adams~

hmm. This is an interesting one to think about. I never thought of it this way but it makes sense. If you are enthusiastic about something and you try hard at it then you have a sort of faith in it. I donno...it is hard to explain.

The Catholic Church

In response to the comments replying to my comment on the Catholic Church. For your information, I actually do know alot about what i was saying. First off, I wasnt making fun of church, I was, in fact, making fun of the Catholic Church as a whole. There have been some pretty pathetic things that have come from that specific Church. There have been about 10,000 severe assult/molestation problems from 1950-2002. Some branches of the Catholic Church, support slavery and racial segregation. Other than the actual abuse of children—was the unwillingness of certain Church leaders to report the incidents directly to the police causing much legal turmoil.

The Catholic Church has made almost a hundred apologies for the actions of the church. These apologies for past (not present) actions of sin were on behalf the PAST MEMBERS of the church, but not on behalf of the church itself. The apologies are also vaguely worded and do not include apologies for recent defiancy, OR a plan of preventing furthur sin. These apologies, when describing events, downplay the the seriousness of the sins. They have admitted to jailing, torture, and burning alive of outspoken individuals and wars of extermination against the Cathars, Knights Templars and other independant groups. They even burned alive a number of scientists and philosophers, such as Galileo. At one point the Church taught that parents must not give their children medicine to prevent disease because it would be against God's will. Some other past issues have included:
~The lack of opposing action by Pope Pius XII during the Nazi holocaust.
~The burning alive of hundreds of thousands of women blamed for witchcraft in the late Middle Ages and Renaissance.
~The burning of the Great Library of Alexandria by Saint Cyril and monks, destroying 600,000 volumes of knowledge of the ancient world, which happens to be the greatest property crime of all time.
~The Protestant Reformation and the wars which followed destroying half of Germany's population.
~The Huguenot extermination in France.
~The issuing of passports to Nazi war leaders after World War II allowing them to escape prosecution for war crimes.
~The castration of boy church singers in order to make them sing in high pitch.
~Making Jews into the object of insults, jokes and generalizations.
~Giving Muslims and other groups unfair characterization, based on ignorance and prejudice.
~Giving the $300,000 financial support to help pass the anti-gay-marriage Proposition 22.
~Making Archdiocese people feel like outsiders besed on their culture, language, ethnic background or immigration status.
~Denying the sacraments to most remarried Catholics.

For me, this is a great deal enough reason to have a strong opinion opposing the Catholic Church. I am a very opinionated person, and I speak my mind. I have reason behind my words and I am not attempting to offend anyone. I simply say what I feel, and seeing as this is a free country with the freedom of speech, and that this is my site, I have the right to do just that.

Yes, i do appreciate comments...and I also greatly appreciate people who have enough confidence in their comments to leave their name and/or email address along with it. Thank you for your opinion. I am sorry to have offended you. Please, feel welcome to come back again anytime to leave your opinion.

Quote of the Day - July 22

"Every man is enthusiastic at times. One man has enthusiasm for thirty minutes, another has it for thirty days-but it is the man that has it for thirty years who makes a success in life."

~The Catholic Layman~

WoW. Now wasnt THAT the wisest thing that has come out of the catolic church in a long while?!?! lol. yes...enthusiasm IS key to success. Without the excitement of doing something where is the will to do it?

Quote of the Day - July 18

"In learning to sail you do not change the current of the water nor do you have any effect on the wind, but you learn to hoist your sail and turn it this way and that to utilize the greater forces which surround you."

~June Singer~

Adaptation...learning to use the resources you are provided but not control them. Humans need to relearn how to "sail" in this way or we will destroy ourselves. We already are destroying ourselves.

Random.

I dont write much anymore.
Poems.
Blogs.
Stories.
Essays.
Journal entries.

Anyway, i practiced my drums today...on my knees cause my brother has an army of nerds over for a LAN and i didnt feel like attracting that kind of attention.

Since my mom was gona all morning today and yesterday because of Becca's church, she promised we would do something together today...i don't know what though.

I really, really miss Juli and i want to have her spend the night sometime soon, but i doubt she will ever be able to again...until she is 18...or 16, depending on her decisions.

I can't really do anything that involves staying up late because I have Speed Camp every Monday and Wednesday morning.

Tony and I are going to date until the end of the summer and then break up and see other people. Fuck you if you think that it is stupid.

Anyway...

I will try to write more often.

My Summer...so far.

i know there have been ALOT of quotes...but i had some catching up to do.

the soccer tourny was great fun. on the way we stopped to check out my dads resort and it was pretty cool.at the tourny we lost two games 4-2 and 5-1. won one game 3-1. and tied another 1-1. ummm we didnt make the finals but it was all good. both nights we went walking on the streets of Yakima and that place is hoppin at night. lol. we got horns and yells and stuff cause lyndsey was wearing her swimming suit. yea..we went to olive garden for dinner one night and red robin for lunch........umm we swam in the pool and blah blah blah.........it was really cool. i got some great saves in and i played goalie the WHOLE TIME! lol. i also had a breakdown in the last game but we wont get into that. after that we went all the wasy back to SUNCADIA (dads resort) and spent the night. then headed to oregon in the morning.

anyway...in oregon i had fun. i got to see everyone i wanted to see...jasmine, caitlin, forest, danne, leo, christen...and even some people i never expected to see again. anyways...me and caitlin and jasmine and becca spent one whole day downtown bend. i wanted to see forest so we hitched a ride with one of jasmines friends...a much older and very attractive friend and he took us to forest and back. then we hung out met some other people went shopping and blah...oh we interviewed people about gay marriage and we saw a person get a fender bender. lol. umm we lost forest to some stoners and met up with danne and leo. then me and caitlin went looking for forest but ran into christen who just happened to long board by us and so we chased her and caught her and she hung out for a bit. then we went back to leo and danne and jazz and becca and headed to jazz's othodontist appointment and that is a long story too cause we got lost. but yea. ummmmmmmmmmm, so that was that. then one night we went and saw Batman Begins and it rocked and soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yea. we hung out with kody a few nights and watched Young Frankenstien a couple times which is a funny as hell movie! lol. yea....................

then we headed back to SUNCADIA again and spent the night. me and caitlin and becca got our own room which rocked...blah blah blah. then we came home and yea. me and caitlin have been running almost every mornign and it has been great. i got to see tony and now me and him are going out again. umm we watched lots of movies and one day we went and hung out downtown north bend all day and then we went and saw The Longest Yard which was great fun. ummm wewent shopping two days and i got new shoes, a new jacket, a new pair of pants, new socks, and a new shirt. lol. yea....ummm and last night we went to 2 pro soccer games that were part of the Gold Cup and that was one of the coolest things i have ever done. Costa Rica won against Canada and US won their game against Cuba and it was just sooo cool!!! we got good seats and it was sooooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tomorrow is WARPED TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! i will tell you guys all about it when i get back!!

Yes, i have found this in many ways. One obvious way is that I was always afraid to be the center of attention, to be the only one doing a certain task, and now acting at something by myself is no longer a fear...hell just watch me play defense in soccer with 3 others compared to playing goalie.

talked to tony...grrr! i miss him!

took becca to get a present for dani who is moving and took her to dani's surprise going away party.

got home and vaccumed the car (it was really dirty!!!)

went inside and my mom made me soup (as you can tell, i cant cook for myself...if you tasted what i made, you would make me food too.)

we played Guess Who?, Checkers and Chess.

we took the dogs for a walk.

Oh Lovely Seattle

You Know You're From Seattle When...

You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian

You feel guilty throwing an aluminum can in the trash.

You use the words "sun break" and know what it means.

You know more than 10 words to describe a cup of coffee.

You know what a dry cappachino is.

You obey all traffic laws EXCEPT "keep right except to pass."

You know at least eight people who work for either Microsoft or Boeing.

You invite twice as many people as you really want to a party since only half will actually show up.

You know what Lutefiske is.

You personally know someone from Alaska.

You consider floating bridges a pain in the butt, not an engineering marvel.

You know how to pronounce "Sequim", "Puyallup" and "Issaquah."

You have roots in Oregon, Idaho or Montana, but wanted a high paying job.

You've tried to get a job in Alaska, especially a summer job only.

You think skiing always means being covered from head to toe, on snow or water.

You know at least three Microsoft burnouts, of which two are millionaires.

You use more than 5 words to order a cup of coffee. "I want to order an unleaded, double, short, skinny, wet cappuccino with a shot of Amaretto please."

A "designer" wardrobe comes from REI, Eddie Bauer, Lands End, and Birkenstock.

You consider it a sunny day if the sun is visible at some point of the day.

You've been "snow" skiing in the RAIN more than in the snow.

When you're discussing rainforests and volcanoes, you're NOT talking about Hawaii.

You Remember the Kingdome

You have tried to forget about WTO

You know how BLUE the skies are here compared to Eastern Washington

The guy at 8:30 am at Starbucks wearing the baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like Phyllis Diller is really a trans named Eva Destruction that used to play with Hole.

Your car insurance costs more because your neighbors don't have any!

Your mayor is straight, 1/2 your friends are gay, the man who delivers your mail has a bumper sticker that reads "when they pry it from my cold dead fingers....", and your Burger World drive thru order taker was a computer millionaire last week.

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Seattle.

Thank You

tonight is not the night for that adventure...nor is any other night. i am not putting my life in their inebriated hands, but i would have...if not for you. as i walked toword that dark car, the lights flashed and startled me...kinda snapped me out of the trance and made me realize i couldnt go...not for fun, or for her....i just couldnt go. the greenish light of the and the unknown sensations of inside of the car were tempting enough to make me go, except your threat was resounding in my head. and i can imagine the discomfort i would be in at this very moment, had i ducked under his helpful arm and stepped through the inviting side door and buckeled up with whoever i was placed next too. i could feel the energy i would have felt as they sped off and i realized how much i wanted to be in there and how much i didnt. so thanx for taking care of me the way i need to be taken care of.

everyone always tells you to go for it because if you dont you might regret it...but might is an awefully hard word to use correctly. if you do something you might regret if you dont...who's to say your wont regret it anyways.

am i a thrill seeker? yes. but i am not stupid...not now...hopefully not ever again.

~Erica Jong~

but tomorrow...or should i say today (it is 1:30 am) is gonna be a bitch. and i am sick of never complaining on here but i hate complaining but too fucking bad tonight.

fucking tv show lasted an hour longer tha it was supposed so i came up here at 11 to finish my essay and i am still not done. planning on doing the last paragraph at lunch real quick...hopefully...and before school maybe.

matt was the only comfort tonight. no one ccalled...................and yes i was expecting some calls.

Grey Skies Are A Beautiful Thing

i guess it is unimportant, what i was planning to write so it shall go unwritten.

i have a lot to say, but most of it i feel i shouldnt, not here anyway.
even though this is my site, some things should be left non-public.

i talked to christen today. we were both felling shitty because we were both stuck in places that we would rather not have been.

i just put in death cab.

great! the phone rang it was exactly who i DIDNT want it to be.

ok on a happier note, we ran 8 bus loops in P.E. (yea i know, not happy) but before we started i thought there was no possible way i would finish (considering my coughing problem and the fact that i am horribly out of shape), but i finished first out of everyone!
yea...so that was my glory of the day. WOOHOO! it was exhilerating! it really was.
and then i had to go inside and get my inhaler...lol.

ok moving on...

there is this senior guy at lunch and he reminds me sooo much of a mix between jack black and jack nicholson. haha. his name is ryan and he gave bobbie a condom today. lol. and i stole his cookie.

then after lunch i gave beautiful anna a hug and told kellen i liked his haircut (and that it made him look taller), and stephy dragged me halfway around the school (litterally dragged me) throwing accusations at me and saying other blah that i dont remember.

science was fun (not scarcastic) because we are learning about water conservation and me and jackie were laughing our asses off at the stupidity of the people who make the big choices in this world and will eventually cause our deaths unless we take over and stop this nonsense. by that time though, it will be to late which is why i plan to start now. ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING! lol. haha. wow. i am a loser, but guess how much i care...yea not a whole lot! so fuck off (but not in the shower cause that would waste good water).

OMG i love this song!! 405! beautiful guitar....you know what else i love? high school. it is like amazing and anyone who doesnt like it need to look harder for the true greatness of it all.

i love myself too! i feel great! its like i found god or something (except i dont believe in god) but you get the point.

comments please!

My Loves.

sometimes i feel like i am the only one who is really loyal to my blog.

maybe the word is...obsessed.
maybe i am obbsessed. hmmmm.
i guess i am.
but maybe there is nothing wrong with mild obsession.
and maybe there is. i dont care though.

the thing is, i love writing.

i love my blog. it is a part of me
and though that sounds weird...its true.

maybe im crazy.

cause it is 10pm but my computer says 6am and it feels like it's 1am.

and tony is supposed to sneak over tonight...
cause i need a hug.
or two.
and he is a good hugger...
and i love him.

right now...i really just want to go lay out on the hammock and look @ the stars.

A Lot Like Love is a good movie.

best love movie i've seen for a while.

Tomorrow is mother's day...
i love my mom.

i am going to write a poem now...and let becca use my computer.
i love becca.

you wont have to strain to look into my eyes.

hello guys. gals. lol. whoever reads this. how are you? i am great! why you ask? happy. hopeful.

first off. Teen People's annual 20 Teens Who Will Change the World was one of the most inspiring things ever! I am not alone. Not only were there 21 this year but they have been doing it for 17 years...add it up and that is alot of teens! It is very pleasing to me. Not only does it give me hope but it gave me an idea. I dont want to say my idea yet...until i figure it all the way out, but OMG it is the best thing i have EVER thought of. I am so excited.

Next. Tonight i am going to see A Lot Like Love with my family and Tony which should be fun.

third. Death Cab hasw a new CD entitled "Plans" coming out in September!! yusss! cant wait!

I am happy...a little light headed and tired, but happy none the less!

That is about it for now, i guess.

Quote of the Day - May 4

"We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal, and then leap in the dark to our success."

~Henry David Thoreau~

to reach a goal you have to understand what is takes and accomplish it. once you have begun to understand what it takes you have to do it.

Got Him!

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you're just as pretty without makeup on. Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "...that's her"

Quote of the Day - May 3

"The strongest of all warriors are these two-Time and Paitence."

~Leo Tolstoi~

well i am actually getting good at drumming. it has taken a few years but it is coming along pretty well! i need to be paitent with myself because it isnt something that just arives...it takes time and practice and practice takes paitence.

My Observations

ok so here we go. another of my daily random rants.

the classes/years at my school seem to be predictable.

freshmen. some are scared and intimidated and others are breaking out of their shells...good and bad. some are doing it by wear the skimpiest clothes they can find and others are just following what is "cool" and still some are letting all that behind them and learning to be themselves. too many dont understand the importance of finding the seriousness of highschool in their frosh year, but it is important to know what highschool is REALLY about. i think so many underestimate the effect they are having on their future by not doing their work.

sophemores. i fear the sophemores will always be the meanest class (which i dont want to be a part of) but that is simply from my observations. after a year of being pushed around, they want to do the pushing and so the chain continues with the new freshmen who get pushed around by the former ones. so many of the shophemores at Mt. si think they are invincible, think they are the best.......and that is not true...considering how mean some of them can get. i also know a few more mature sophemores......umm anna frearson for sure and she is all i can think of...but i donno. remember, my opinions...

juniors. well i think the juniors are half and half. half of them are maturing at the rate they should be and half of them are stuck down with the lower classmen (maturity wise). i think junior year will be fun...it is like a transition from lower classmen to upper. you get more respect you have very few required classes and i can appreciate being in the middle of highschool but it is a pretty heavily weighed year.

seniors. some seniors have the idea that it just doesnt matter anymore. some never thought it mattered. there are alot of seniors i know who are dying to be done with school. they are excited but humbled. they have the most freedom and respect. i think senior year will be a blast.

ugg i am tired.

Quote of the Day - May 2

"The indefagigable persuit of unattainable perfection, even though it consist of nothing more than in the pounding of an old piano, is what alone gives a meaning to our life on this unavailing star."

~Logan Pearsall Smith~

even if we cannot reach perfection of the world, we can work toward it. i want purpous in my life, and it is a goal of mine to make the world as perfect as possible. even if perfect is unrealistic, setting a higher bar only makes me work harder for what i really want, therefore i can achieve my goal and perhaps more.

Quote of the Day - April 30-May 1

"You cannot cross the sea mearly by standing and staring at the water."

~R. Tagore~

you gotta jump in...

Brace For Impact

wow. someone has an attitude.

slam doors all you want Becca, but goddamn, suck it up a little bit. i understand that you are gonna miss mom but, guess what, we all have to deal with it! chill out alittle. you are the one who takes a day off school practically every week. if i did that, i might as well shoot myself in the foot. 8th grade is tough with sports, but manageable with the right attitude, but 9th grade...i cant imagine adding anything to my schedual right now without dying. i hope you realize that next year is gonna be even more tiring for you...so you need to start growing thicker skin.

i had a nearly impossible year last year, and i NEVER took days off school. i can accept that you are at a point in your life that is horrifying but you need to calm down. you have had three days to relax this weekend and i have only had one. do you see me slamming doors and yelling at people who have been working their asses off? no.

i am over here writting my 300 point essay with my stupid stomach and coughing problems while listening to you moaning and groaning cause you dont know how to work a godddamn washing machine. weigh it out.

i love you and i am sorry that life is tough, but it is tough for people other than just yourself and you seem to be, in my opinion, taking advantage of a lot of people lately, especially mom.

this isnt an attack on you. it is here to point out your behavior and the consequences that are going to take place if you dont alter it. it is advice i am offering...take it or leave it.

The Power of ONE

one life. one being. one person. one. the impact one can make, by simply believing that they can make it.

if one word can ruin a persons day...then one word can save it.

one little wrong move and you can slip, fall, die...lose it all.
but one right move...and you can begin to save the world.

one little grain of rice can tip the scale...it is true.

one tiny miscalculation and the Arch in St Louis became falted.

one small minute can save people from death in many disasterous situations.

one thread on a shirt can be pulled to unravel the whole thing.

do not underestimate the power of one. EVER.

one person, getting her one family, to get her one school, to get her one community to stop using so much paper.....that makes a difference.

why then, do you doubt me? my efforts? call me stupid?

i do care about you...to the point that i have much pity for you people who do nothing...except attempt to shatter the dreams and hopes of people who try to do something good.

the power of one....is great. and i will be a person who uses that power...my power, to my advantage.

off subject:

yes my life may be like a movie...but it is not a entirely happy movie. it is a movie with inimaginable horrors that i just happened to push myself through. it is a movie with unwanted drama caused but foolish people who surround me...asking for the tears. it is a movie of romances...broken and soaring...love that will never die. it is a movie of life. my life in particular. and the pain i have found but struggled through. it is about me, finding myself, earlier than thought possible. it is one single movie that, if filmed, would make the world laugh, cry, scream, smile and become humbled. i dont think some of you appreciate my movie...my life, in the way it should be appreciated. but i guess that is your loss. to my movie...i couldnt say what the end is, because there isnt one. this movie, the insight gained from it, will be passed along by me to the future and so on. therefore, there is no end...to my movie, or to this thing we call life.

despite....

you know what is weird? i can be in so much physical pain and angst...but i still claim i am happy. guess what! i am happy.

i wish i wasnt falling apart so. it seems that something is physically wrong with me and when i fix it, there is something else. you know...

my cramps
to
my foot
to
my coughing
to
my nose
to
my stomach pain...
and more.

diagnosed with asthema
and
maybe IBS
then
maybe acid reflux
then
probably tapeworms....

and it is ALL painful.

but i am still smiling.

and i have the best family.

and the best boyfriend.

and the best friends.

and the best school.

and i am happy.
